Seeding and Qualifying Level 2017
WHO CAN ENTER
The awards are open to all Australian Professional, Emerging, Student photographers who are seeded, have qualified, wildcard recipients or have been directly invited. The awards are also open to Overseas Professional Photographers. Anyone outside of these parameters is ineligible to enter the APPA awards.
WHO IS SEEDED?
The seeding and qualifying levels will remain the same for 2017. All members who currently hold an APPA Achievement of Associate, Master of Photography, Grand Master of Photography will be seeded entry into APPA. If you are unsure if you are seeded please check here for the list of 2017 seeds or email [email protected].
If you are not seeded, and have qualified through your local state awards, you will receive a 25% discount on your APPA 2017 entry
QUALIFIED ENTRANTS FROM STATE AWARDS
If you achieved at least 2 images of 80 or higher in your 2017 state awards, you can enter the 2017 APPA, with either the same entries, or different images if you wish. It is you the photographer who qualifies to enter APPA, not your qualifying images. An email was sent to all entrants that qualified after the state awards but if you are unsure you can check your results on www.aippawards.com or email [email protected]
WILDCARD ENTRIES INTO THE 2017 APPA
If you are not seeded, but believe you should be treated as though you were, tell us why and our Awards Team will consider your circumstances with the possibility of offering you a wildcard direct entry into APPA.
THE TYPE OF CIRCUMSTANCES WHICH MAY GIVE RISE TO A WILDCARD ENTRY ARE:
• Illness – Preventing you entering your state awards
• Financial Hardship – If your business is suffering financial hardship, you can discreetly let us know and apply for a wild card entry into APPA.

MEMBER OF RECIPROCAL OVERSEAS ORGANISATION
The seeding and qualifying requirements required for APPA do not apply to the overseas professional photographers, however entrants must email [email protected] before 28 July to get a login that gives access to online entry form.
Members of reciprocal rights organisations such as NZIPP can earn merit points and AIPP Honours (Associate, Master, Fellow and Grand Master), Silver and Gold Awards. Are eligible to win Highest Scoring Print Award and Overseas Professional Photographer of the Year Award. Maximum of 4 print entries.
