HOW ARE THE CATEGORY WINNERS CHOSEN?
The three highest scoring submissions with a minimum of two awarded prints (scored 80 or above) and a minimum aggregate score of 320 will be deemed as finalists for that category. These three submissions will then be judged privately against each other by five judges where the winner of the category will be selected. Judges will be asked to consider the
These three submissions will then be judged privately against each other by five judges where the winner of the category will be selected.
Judges will be asked to consider the technical excellence, impact, innovation, creativity and diversity within each submission to determine the winner. Judges are asked not to look at the four entries as a folio, as they may be four totally diverse images. If there are less than three entrants that qualify the winner will be selected from the two entrants that achieve two awarded prints and the 320 aggregate. If only one entrant qualifies as a finalist this person will automatically be the winner of the category. If no entrants achieve two awarded prints and the 320 aggregate for the category no award will be given.
Student and Emerging photographer with a minimum aggregate of 240 points to qualify for the Student or Emerging Photographer of the Year title. If only one entrant achieved the 240 aggregate required this person will automatically be the winner of the title. If no entrants achieve the 240 aggregate for the category no award will be given. The three submissions with the highest aggregate with a minimum score of 240 will then be judged privately against each other by five judges where the winner of the category will be selected.
